This is an exempt, salary-level role

Position Summary:
As our Maintenance Superintendent, you'll own the day-to-day condition of the facility and its assets. You'll report to the Operations Superintendent and help lead a team of 5 hourly colleagues. Your focus will be keeping equipment running, staying ahead of failures, and building stronger maintenance practices over time.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Proactively ensure all ADM employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors understand and comply with ADM safety policies and procedures
  • Set goals and expectations for maintenance activities while following the location's maintenance program
  • Align, deploy, and execute ADM's Maintenance and Reliability vision and strategy
  • Manage and implement preventive maintenance and reliability activities; maintain accurate equipment and work history in CMMS and JDE
  • Walk equipment regularly to stay ahead of failure — proactively identifying what needs attention before it becomes a problem
  • Coordinate the maintenance schedule around production to minimize downtime
  • Lead and support root-cause analysis on equipment failures and drive implementation of countermeasures
  • Reach out to vendors for parts, equipment quotes, and supplies; manage storeroom and spare parts inventory to keep what's needed on hand
  • Work with plant leadership to develop the maintenance budget and manage monthly R&M spending
  • Support production departments with safety, quality, and audit compliance; engage in Performance Excellence activities
  • Lead, train, and develop hourly team members; provide consistent, fair feedback and coach employees to reach their potential
  • Identify training needs and facilitate sessions focused on precision skills, safety practices, and work standards
  • Drive in-house completion of small and minor repairs whenever feasible

Position Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with industrial or agricultural equipment — familiarity with grain handling systems, bearings, or welding is preferred; open to maintenance backgrounds from manufacturing, chemical, or food/feed environments
  • A track record of leading, training, or developing others in a hands-on environment
  • Comfort with CMMS, JDE, or similar maintenance management systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • A proactive approach to troubleshooting and repair
  • Flexible schedule, willing to accept on-call rotation and after-hours trouble calls, including nights and weekends when necessary.

Physical requirements: This role involves frequent lifting of materials up to 40 lbs and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs, prolonged standing, bending, stooping, walking, and reaching. You’ll operate manual and powered tools, move throughout the facility, climb stairs and ladders, and work at heights. Work takes place both indoors and outdoors year-round, including in environments that may be dusty, noisy, or exposed to changing temperatures and other operational conditions.

Excited about this role but don’t think you meet every requirement listed? We encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this role or another one of our openings.
