Position Summary
As a professional Cleaning Technician, you will be part of a team that professionally cleans college buildings and ensures they look neat and organized. Assist with office moves and events setups and breakdowns.
Qualifications Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains the cleanliness of campus buildings on a daily basis, including interior spaces and immediate surrounding areas.
- Cleans floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
- Dusts and cleans furniture, walls, machines, and equipment; cleans ceilings and polishes light fixtures.
- Removes stains from rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using appropriate cleaning solutions and chemicals.
- Mixes water, detergents, and cleaning agents in accordance with established safety and usage guidelines.
- Cleans and vacuums carpeted areas, including performing spot-cleaning treatments as needed.
- Empties trash receptacles and ensures proper waste disposal.
- Cleans interior glass surfaces, including windows, partitions, and mirrors.
- Performs periodic deep-cleaning duties as scheduled, including floor care, carpet shampooing, and washing of walls and glass surfaces.
- Maintains effective communication and positive working relationships with all members of the College community.
- Complies with all safety, security, regulatory, and quality standards and procedures.
- Demonstrates flexibility and a willingness to complete all assigned tasks.
- Performs additional duties as assigned, including:
Assisting with office moves. Supporting event setup and breakdown, including restoring spaces to their original configuration.
Required Qualifications
- Prior housekeeping or custodial experience required.
- Basic knowledge of housekeeping methods, materials, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions
- Lift up to 30lbs
- Part-time - 25 hours
- Schedule: Monday - Friday 6 am - 11 am
